About Integrity Piano Service

Integrity Piano Service is based out of Seymour, Connecticut, and has been in business since April 1999, providing southwest Connecticut with high-quality piano service. Kenneth Farrington, RPT, who actually started the business informally in August 1998, received his formal training from the Randy Potter School of Piano Technology, through their extensive and detailed distance-learning course of study. Ken graduated from the program with a "highest honors" distinction, and continues to take advantage of many opportunities to improve his knowledge and skills, especially through the Piano Technicians Guild.

Ken received the title "Registered Piano Technician" (RPT) in January 2003, after passing the last of three rigorous examinations offered by the Piano Technicians Guild to certify members.

Clients of Integrity Piano Service include Southern Connecticut State University, Fairfield Public Schools, Naugatuck Public Schools, a number of private schools and music schools, churches, theaters, and several hundred individuals. If you have not yet had your piano serviced by Kenneth Farrington, RPT, contact him today to set up an appointment. You will be the next to appreciate his commitment to integrity, honesty, quality work, and to providing complete piano care.

The Piano Technician

Selecting a qualified technician to service your piano is an important decision, especially considering the investment you have made in purchasing your instrument. The Piano Technicians Guild has established the only internationally recognized standard for technical proficiency, through the examination program that qualifies members as "Registered Piano Technicians." By hiring a Registered Piano Technician (RPT) to service your piano, you can rest assured that in almost all cases this will be an individual who is committed to excellence and quality in all aspects of piano maintenance and customer service. Visit the Piano Technicians Guild online at www.ptg.org.

Kenneth Farrington — Personal Background

"I have always enjoyed playing the piano since my first lesson at age ten, only days after we got our first piano. It is God who is the source of my talent, and I have had many opportunities to use it for him, including playing keyboard at my small church and producing MIDI orchestrations for Christian music. The most recent example is the CD recorded by members of my church (www.PeaceAndPurpose.com/cd). God is also the one who blessed me with loving parents, and a brother who's still my best friend and former classmate—we were home-schooled from the earliest years all the way through high school.

"The home school setting and my family's love for God have had much to do both with how I've used my musical ability and with what led me to piano technology as a career. My parents could see my interest in the technical side of the piano for years, and encouraged the interest. My grandparents bought me my first tools when I was about fourteen years old. Even the piano tuner we had back then can probably remember that youngster who loved watching every piano tuning—no surprise I grew up to be a piano tuner! Towards the end of high school, one opportunity led to another, and soon I was doing floor tuning at a local piano showroom (no longer around). Training was essential, however, and as a home-study course, the Randy Potter School was an ideal way for me to learn, following all my years of home school.

"The most important thing in my life, however, has nothing to do with pianos. At a young age I learned about God's law in the Bible. I realized that just like every other person I had broken that law in many points. It was very sobering to learn that I was under God's condemnation for this. As a righteous God, he must punish sin, just as a good judge must hand down sentence to a murderer or a thief in court. However, the most wonderful day of my life was when I learned that someone had already endured God's judgment for my sin, so that I could go free. His story is well-known, especially by those who have seen Mel Gibson's recent release. What most people don't realize is that Jesus Christ's death on the cross was for one purpose: to bear the sentence we owed. It was God's way of showing his immense love for mankind, and of giving every person the opportunity to escape the judgment that we would otherwise face one day after we die. Since that day when I believed that fact and trusted in God's salvation, I know that I am on my way to heaven, not to condemnation. I hope you can say the same!" — Ken Farrington
