Integrity Piano Selling Service The Selling Service at Integrity Piano is a unique piano brokerage service designed to help you sell your piano without the usual hassles of trying to guess at the piano's value or internal condition, or writing up classified ads on your own. By serving as your selling agent, I take the burden off of you, and bring in the advantage of my years of experience in the piano field. Here's how it works First, I'll come to evaluate the piano for sale and write up a summary report. Then, based on what I find, I'll suggest an asking price, and recommend any repairs or tuning it may need. While I'm there, I'll also take some photos and make a note of anything else the sale will include, such as the piano bench. Next, I'll put all the information in the form of a listing on www.IntegrityPiano.com. Click here to see how this looks. That website page will be advertised either verbally or through a flyer given to many current customers as I do work for them, encouraging them to pass the information to friends and family who may be shopping for a piano. Sometimes I'll even recommend your specific piano if it would especially fit someone's need. The website page will be one of the first recommendations to anyone who asks me about buying a piano. It may also be the focus of periodic special mailings to all the piano teachers in my database. Often I'll also advertise your specific piano through free classified ad venues like craigslist.com. Commission The commission is 6% of the selling price of your piano, or $180, whichever is greater. Why do I recommend tuning the piano before it's moved? It has been observed by many piano technicians across the USA that piano owners who tune and repair their pianos before selling them will usually sell them quicker and get more for them than those who do not. This is mainly because the average buyer does not realize the difference between a piano that sounds bad, and one that is simply out of tune. Or they may be scared away by problems that are actually easy to repair, such as sticking keys. In addition, the physical move does not throw the piano out of tune. It is actually only the environmental change from one location to another that affects the tuning, and this effect occurs gradually over the two to four weeks following the move. Other details The evaluation will be done at no charge if you sign up to sell your piano at the same time. If the evaluation was done before you decided to sell your piano through this selling service, the evaluation fee will be applied as a credit to offset any tuning or repairs needed to prepare the piano for sale. The selling agent agreement is in effect for three months from signing, and can be renewed at no extra charge.
